Rural Mentoring Provision

This project will provide opportunities for joint marketing of rural village halls/community centres by providing a mentoring provision to management committees of village halls/community centres. It is anticipated to create a centralised booking system run by the Rural Development Centre ensuring that the Centre becomes a hub of the rural community for better usage of existing rural resources e.g. village halls and community centres.

A development programme will be put in place for management committees of rural buildings by using the experience of the staff of the Rural Development Centre on how to best utilise their buildings to create a sustainable future for their resources.

In order to develop the development programme a skills/needs analysis will be undertaken, this will involve the skills of the management committees and the physical needs requirements of the buildings.

This project will allow community groups/community councils to access advice, information and to share ideas and best practice.

The result of this project is to diversify the rural economy by strengthening the profile of the Rural Development Centre promoting a ‘sense of place’ for advice and sharing of information; resulting in a stronger economy throughout with increased opportunities.
